Lauryldimethylamine oxide (LDAO) is an amine oxide based nonionic surfactant with a C12 (dodecyl) alkyl tail. It is effective against common bacteria such as E. coli and S. aureus, however it is non-denaturing and may be used to solubilize proteins.
